Doc Watson


Appalachan flat pick guitar legend Doc Watson. This was a real treat, as I've been a fan of Doc Watson since I was about 17 years old. I have a good deal of his albums, many of which are LPs. At 84, Mr. Watson is still going strong.

Pat Ahrens is on the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Bluegrass & Traditional Music Association. She is currently finishing a book titled, "The Legacy of Two Legends, 'Snuffy Jenkins' and 'Pappy' Sherrill."

Ralph Stanley


Ralph Stanley is the king of bluegrass. He gained a great deal of fame when the movie "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" had him perform a version of "Oh, Death" that sends chills down your spine.

Senator John Edwards came through town the other day after announcing his 2008 bid for the Presidency.

Mark Stinson


Mark Stinson is my younger brother. We get along a lot better now than we did when we were kids. Here we are at the Johnny Mercer Pier at Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina.

Gladys Malpass


Gladys Malpass is my grandmother on my mother's side. She lives in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Dottie Stinson is my mom. You should taste her pecan pie!
